Ahmad Pur Lamma is a town in Rahim Yar Khan District, Pakistan, located a few kilometers from Sadiqabad.
Lamma is a word used in the meaning of west, in Saraiki language, spoken in southern Punjab. This word was used to distinguish this town from Ahmad pur sharqia (eastern), neighbor town of Abbasid Nawabs of Bahawalpur.
Nawabs of Bahawalpur developed it and named it after a local nawab Ahmad Khan Abbassi who re shaped this town in 1764, only to provide a vigilant watch over Sindhi Kalhora. In the mud built fort 200 soldiers were appointed. In the history this army never fought against the Sindhi rulers. No important historical event ever took place here.
Hindu traders and Muslim peasants made the town prosperous. Later, under Nawab Bahawal, sub Tehsil was established here, which became Tehsil, soon. Revenue had been the problem of the town, which prevails, even now in 21st century. When the British laid the railway line from Peshawar to Sindh through Bahawalpur State, it passed through Sadiqabad.
It was transformed into a Tehsil only to serve for a few years. Its status of tehsil was confiscated in the favour of Sadiqabad another village, later turned into a busy city. Ahmad pur lamma became a town committee, a sad incident for the locals. Town never recovered from the shock.

Ahmad pur lamma is situated at the border of Punjab and Sind, on the road from Sadiqabad to Bhong. It has a long hot summer with very low annual rain .Winter is short and dry.
Most of people of this town Siraiki speaking. But many others are also living in this area. Pathan, Baloch and Urdu-speaking families are not less in number. The city has a cool and calm atmosphere.
People are co-operative and are willing to live peacefully. There are no evident linguistic or tribal-related prejudices. People enjoy the company of friends over the cup of tea and chat for hours.
there are many shrines in this town Peer Fazil Shah Bukhari,Pak Bbiyaan, Basharat Shah Saheed, Dadla Shaheed,peer Abdul Wahab Shah,Lal Shah,Bakht Faqeer sain a famous Sufi poet Faqeer Bakht Saeen, and many others.
Shrines of Syed Khaki Shah and Diwaana Sarkar have festivals, where people go to pay homage and enjoy Qawwali programmes. Display of Gurz(penetration of sharp needles through cheeks and lips) is another specialty of the festivals.
The main problem is the dearth of children and family parks in the city. There is no place in the city where families can be relax and revive their spirits.
